Troubleshooting Rattling Noise With A Curt Weigh Distribution Hitch In A 2-1/2 Trailer Hitch

Question:

I bought this WD hitch about a year ago and it has worked well for me. It is for a 2inch hitch. Ive since upgraded my truck and now have a 2.5inch hitch. The simple 2inch sleeve adapter is a bit loose and makes noise. What options are available to make this fit better? Can I get a better sleeve adapter? OR, can I get a 2.5inch shank to fit this WD hitch? OR, do I need to buy a complete WD hitch to fit the 2.5? Thanks for the help!

The easiest way to fix your rattling issue is to just replace the shank on your Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 10,000lbs GTW, 1,000lbs TW # C17500 with one designed for 2-1/2" receiver tube openings. You could use one like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4900 which is designed for a 2-1/2" opening and has a 10" Rise/6" Drop to keep your trailer level while towing.

If you need a different rise/drop then let me know and I can find the correct shank for your application.
