Compatible Trailer Hitch Receiver For A 2022 Volkswagen Cross Sport
Question:
Is the # C93CR the right hitch for my 2022 Volkswagen Cross Sport? How close is this going to sit to the bumper?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C93CR is the correct fit for your 2022 Volkswagen Cross Sport. This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport's frame with no welding required. This bumper is designed to sit very close to bottom of the fascia so trimming of the fascia may be needed to provide proper clearance for the receiver tube.
If you plan on towing a trailer you'll also need a trailer wiring harness. For this I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TK89FR. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area. You will have to remove the threshold cover, cargo trays, and some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area or mounted to the trailer hitch using a mounting bracket like the # 18144 with the # 18140.
For a great starter ball mount kit I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500lbs # 989900. It has a 1-7/8" hitch and 2" hitch ball to allow you to tow multiple trailers. It has a 1" or 3" rise and a 2" or 4" drop to keep your trailer level while towing.
