What Flat-Towing Setup do You Recommend for My 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500?

Question:

How come the capacity is higher on the Blackhawk bar 10,000 lbs, than the Falcon All-terrain 6,000 lbs.? They both use the same slide rods

The reason why the Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 # RM-422 has a 10,000 pound maximum weight capacity and the Roadmaster Falcon # RM-522 has a maximum weight capacity of 6,000 pounds is because, apart from the slide rods, the overall construction of these two bars are engineered for different strength levels. In addition, the extended length of the Falcon is 1-1/4 inches longer, which factors into the capacity as well.

According to the specs I have on your 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500, your vehicle weighs about 5,100 pounds. With this weight, you will be fine with the Falcon # RM-522 for your tow bar.

If you need all the parts necessary to tow your 2019 Chevy Silverado, I recommend the following additional parts:

- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-523199-5 (will not need an additional adapter)
- Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251
- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-1676-7

Apart from the fact that the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit is 100% U.S.A. made, it will not require an additional adapter to work with the Falcon tow bar. In addition, you will also receive the proportional action of the SBS Stay-IN-Play which applies your 1500's brakes at the same level that you apply the brakes to your RV. With the diode kit, this will allow you to connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your 1500's lighting system.

If you need help with the installation of these parts, I went ahead and linked videos to walk you through the processes. As with all flat-towing setups, I recommend consulting with your vehicle's owner's manual to see if there any additional guidelines and/or helpful tips.
