Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver, Wiring and Brake Controller For a 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid
Question:
I need to get everything for pulling my enclosed trailer with my new 2022 Toyota Highlander. I need a brake controller, all the wiring and the hitch and they must work with the Hybrid on my Highlander. What do you recommend I use?

I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e75ZR for your 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. This will bolt into the existing holes already on the frame of your Highlander. It is rated for towing up to 500lbs of tongue weight and a trailer up to 5,000lbs. Be sure to not exceed any ratings given from Toyota on your specific Highlander.
The Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter # TK57VR will give you all the wiring needed to install a 7-way connector and Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 on your Highlander. I recommend using Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58003 to secure the 7-way connector in an easy to reach location without having to drill holes in your rear bumper fascia.
With the etrailer Receiver # e75ZR installed on a Highlander in our shop we found the inside top of the receiver to be 16-1/2" from the ground. The etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 will provide you with 2 different ball mounts that have either a 3/4" rise and 2" drop or a 2-3/4" rise and 4" drop. This will allow you to get closest to the correct height of the tongue on your enclosed trailer. Also included is a carry bag, 1-7/8" ball, 2" ball and 2 receiver pins.
