Which Axle Should Snow Tire Chains be Installed on for 4 Wheel Drive Vehicles
Question:
Should the chains be on the front or rear axel when using 4 wheel drive and towing a camp trailer
asked by: Ron
Helpful Expert Reply:
When using tire chains like the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w/ Cams # TC2828CAM on a 4 wheel drive vehicle, the chains should go on the primary drive axle. This information should be in your owner's manual. More than likely it is the rear axle.
If you let me know what vehicle and tire size you have I would be happy to make a recommendation. I have attached a link to all of our tire chains for your reference.
