Will the Thule Vertex Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2007 Acura MDX

I ordered a hidden hitch for my 2007 acura mdx. Im about to buy the thule bike rack apex but want to make sure that this rack is compatible with the hitch that Ive ordered. Would appreciate your prompt reply. Thanks.

The Thule Apex # TH9025XT will fit your 2007 Acura MDX with Hidden Hitch trailer hitch # 87474. On numerous models of the same generation as your 2007 MDX that we have installed hitches on, the clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the rear bumper measured at most 5 inches.

On the Vertex, it comes out 6-1/4 inches to the foot of the carrier and 12 inches to the back of the upright bar. So it should clear the back of the vehicle without issue. I have included a link to a video showing the rack on a 2012 MDX which is the same generation as your 2007 for all intents and purposes.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # TH982XT. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wifes bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my sons bike at all.
