For a great hitch for your 2021 Dodge Durango, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13182. The Curt hitch comes with an easy installation process and only takes about 30 minutes to install. It is much easier than the difficult installation process of the Draw-Tite # DT38MR. Also, the gloss outer coat and powder base coat provides superior protection from rust and corrosion.
For 7-way wiring, you need to have a 4-way harness already installed to your Durango. If you do not have one installed already, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118617. Once the 4-way is installed, you can now install the 7-way. That is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. Once the 7-way is installed, you will have brake controller abilities.
If you need a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 or the Curt Echo # C51180. Both of these controllers are proportional controllers which means that the controller activates the trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action. The Voyager is more of a traditional-style controller than requires mounting into the dashboard of your vehicle near the steering wheel. For the Voyager, you will need the controller plug-in harness # 20127 in order to install the wiring into your dash location. On the other hand, the Curt Echo allows you to control the settings of your controller with the ease of your Smart device.
