How to Use Curt Q25 5th Wheel Hitch in 2017 Ford Super Duty Puck System

My uncle has a q25 fifth wheel hitch on his 2020 ford and sold his trailer. Im looking at buying it from him I have a 2017 f350 with puck system. Will I need a different base if so which one

You actually have a couple of options to use the Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16265 in your 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty with the puck system. You can either replace the legs with ones that fit the Ford pucks, or you can keep the hitch as-is and use an adapter that mounts into the pucks, and install the hitch on the adapter:

- Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch - Ford and Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # C88KR

The best option really comes down to personal preference, as both will do the same job. The one thing to keep in mind as that using the adapter will add 2-1/2 inches of height to the hitch set up, so the hitch height can be 15-1/2 to 19-1/2 inches with the adapter, opposed to 13 to 17 inches with just the legs.
