Does Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Hitch for Ford OEM Rail Kit Require Capture Plate
Question:
I currently use a Pullrite Super glide hitch for my fifth wheel. We are about to purchase a Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch to be installed on a 2022 F450. As I recall, we installed a capture plate on the trailer to work with the Pullrite. I assume that needs to be removed before we hitch up to the Reese but do we need to reinstall any other kind of capture plate for the Reese?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Hitch part # RP30922 that you referenced that fits your 2022 Ford F-450 with the OEM rail kit does not require you to use a capture plate. So you can remove your Pullrite capture plate and leave it off.
