Frame Measurement Needed for Install of Bolt On Reese Frame Weight Distribution Brackets

Question:

Hi Folks. In the process of finishing my trailer. OK here is what I have. MY big trailer 18 foot car hauler has the weight distribution hitch similar to RP67509 with the Round bars and straight line system. Ok I am redoing my utility trailer and it has a weird tongue, basically double framed. Included in picture. I want to install the bolt on chain hooks, but not sure where to mount them for them to be proper working width. Is there a guide for the width or narrowness that the round bars can be and not compromised as to function? I need to know where to install the chain hangers. As you can see, not much room to put them ideally. Inside the frame rails will be too close together all the way outside I thing would be way to wide and put too much strain on the bars I am not using the straight line system on this trailer and will have to remove and re-bolt the chains when I switch trailers. I Could weld a 3/8 piece of round stock inside the two rails with a bend to hang the chains because I don think I have the room for the bolt on units. Any info would be greatly appreciated on this application. One other question also, would it be better for the dual electric brakes to have dedicated ground wires , of just ground them to the frame. I am going to start wiring it this week and without the new decking on, its not a bad job either way. I am also sending you a picture of my wild colored suspension for a few laughs. Springs and drums are Poppy Pink. Not to have the trailer look goofy, but if someone decides to steal it, there are not many trailers that are bright white with pink springs floating around so will be easy to identify unless they take it apart and repaint each piece. With the fenders on, the pink it hardly noticeable anyways. Thanks

The Bolt On Reese Weight Distribution Hangers part # RP58305 that you referenced need to install 31 inches back from the ball center of the coupler on the frame. It's hard to say if there is interference from the additional frame bracket in your pictures so you'd have to take that measurement and see where that would put the brackets and if it would be possible. Hopefully there is enough gap at that distance between the two frame channels for the bracket to fit and allow the chain to fit on.

Grounding your brake assemblies directly to the trailer frame would be fine as well.
