What 7-Way Wiring Harness and Brake Controller do You Recommend for My 2022 Toyota Tacoma?
Question:
what is the correct 7-way wiring harness for my 2022 Toyota Tacoma?

Expert Reply:
The correct 7-way wiring harness you need for your 2022 Toyota Tacoma is the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way Trailer Connector # 22117. This will allow you to prep your truck in order to have a brake controller when hauling your trailer.
To add a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 or the Curt Echo # C51180. Both of these controllers are proportional controllers which means that the controller activates the trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action. The Voyager is more of a traditional-style controller than requires mounting into the dashboard of your vehicle near the steering wheel. On the other hand, the Curt Echo allows you to control the settings of your controller with the ease of your Smart device.
If you need a hitch receiver on your truck to make towing possible, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13264. Not only does the Curt hitch provide you with the highest gross towing weight capacity of any hitch we carry (6,000 pounds), it also involves an easy installation that takes only about 30 minutes to complete.
If you need a ball mount/ball, I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop # C45534. This kit also comes with a hitch cover and a locking hitch pin.
