What Trunk-Mount Bike Carriers Will Fit a 2004 Lexus RX 330 SUV

My research indicates the Lexus RX300 midsize crossover was produced for model years 1999 through 2003. In 2004 the vehicle was updated to a new version, the RX330. If your Lexus is the 2004 model year it should then be the RX330 model.

Thule and Hollywood Racks make a number of trunk-mount bike carriers for the RX330 that can be seen using the link provided. Please note that when a trunk-mount bike carrier is in place you will not be able to use your rear wiper. Also, only 2-bike carriers are recommended for use with your vehicle due to weight concerns.

Thule offers their excellent Raceway 2 carrier, part # TH9001PRO, that includes their patented Fit Dial system for easy installation as well as locks for both the carrier itself and your two bikes. Other more cost-effective Thule carriers are also shown. All use the tow loops under the rear of the vehicle as the attachment point for the lower clips.

Hollywood Racks offers their # HRF2 folding carrier which is designed to work with vehicles that have spoilers at the top of the rear hatch. This carrier can either use the roof rack for mounting or be
secured with the included hatch anchors. If your RX has a plastic spoiler this carrier is a good choice. Locks are not included but are available. The Thule Passive Security Strap, part # TH533, secures the carrier to your locked vehicle. We also have locks that can be used to secure the bikes to the carrier, including the 10-Foot Cable Lock, part # e98891.

If you do have the RX300, which was produced prior to the 2004 model year, then your options will vary. If you have the 2003 model year RX300 you can consider the carriers shown on the other link
