what is the difference between the B&W Companion 20k and the Demco hijacker 18k for my 2022 Ram 2500 short bed with oem pucks?

There are a couple things to consider when comparing the B&W Companion - 20k # BWRVK3670 with the Demco Hijacker # DM8550034 for your short bed 2022 Ram 2500 with OEM pucks. First off, the Companion has a standard dual jaw while the Hijacker has a premium single hook jaw. Of the two jaw designs, the single jaw is the most secure and has the least amount of noise/chucking. Another factor is the presence of the autoslide feature of the Hijacker. This feature is great because you will not have to exit your truck to manually slide the hitch when making sharp turns (like you have to do with the Companion). Lastly, with the Hijacker, you will need the Demco Adapter # DM6099 in order to install into your pucks (you will not need this with the Companion).
Given the overall advantage of the single-hook jaw and the autoslide feature, I recommend the Demco Hijacker # DM8550034.
