Recommended Air Conditioner For An Enclosed Cargo Trailer

Which AC is best for a 7x16 insulated cargo trailer? Currently does not have any AC installed. Please include required mounting kit. Thanks

For your enclosed cargo trailer I recommend the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Manual - 15,000 Btu - White # FR92PR. Through our own independent testing the Furrion branded units have been shown to be the overall better unit when compared to Atwood and Advent. In the attached video Randy will walk you through the tested specifications of these units and offer some additional information.
Since you're installing this on an enclosed trailer you will need to reinforce the roof to withstand the weight of the rooftop unit and will most likely also need to increase the thickness of the roof. The # FR92PR requires a roof thickness of 3-1/2" to 6" thick and opening size of 14-1/4" long x 14-1/4" wide. This unit comes with an air distribution box that has built-in thermostat controls and temperature settings.
While this unit does come with a start capacitor, you're still going to want 30amp service or a generator with a starting wattage above 3,000 watts to ensure the unit will be able to start. I recommend the 4,500-Watt Portable Generator - 3,600 Running Watts - Gas - Remote Start # 333-0005. This generator comes with a 4,500 starting wattage and 3,600 running wattage. This generator can be powered off of gas or propane and has an electric starter for easy activation.
This system will come with everything you need to mount it to the correct size roof thickness, with the only external components needed being just the wires to power the system.
