Recommendations For Getting A 12 Volt Outlet Extended Out To A Small Heater
Question:
Hello, I am trying to run a small 12v heater in my enclosed trailer just to keep it above freezing to safely use a gas compressor. Can I use a 7 way extension cord C56080 and the 12v adapter HM47675 to achieve this? Or is there a better, safer way? Thank you!

There is no reason you couldn't use the Curt Universal 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 7-Way Extension # C56080 and the Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47675 to get a 12 volt outlet to your trailer. However, if you don't mind a little DIY wiring, I may have a better way to do it that will end up costing less.
With that said, we have the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 that could very easily be attached to 5 feet of Deka Jacketed 2 Wire # 10-2-1 with the # 05732-2 butt connectors. This could all then be wired into the Pollak Black Plastic, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector # PK12706 and it would give you a 10 foot long, purpose built 12 volt outlet extension. It will need some electrical tape to seal everything up, but this would be one piece instead of two, which I prefer.
