Recommendation For Keeping A B&W Companion Protected In A 2022 Ford F-350 When Not Towing

Question:

I pull a 5th wheel camper with my new 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty pretty often and usually keep the hitch in my bed at all times. Because of this, I have had one rust out pretty bad and want to keep my new 25k B&W Companion more protected so it will last longer. What do you have that will accomplish this task?

I actually have a great option to keep your B&W Companion # BWRVK3305 protected when you aren't towing. You will need to make sure the head of your B&W will sit just below the bed rails though, so depending on how you have the height set, this is something to be aware of.

With that being said, check out the American made Pace Edwards Full-Metal JackRabbit Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # PE56QJ. This fully retractable cover will not block your rear window when open due to it sliding into a canister that sits below the bed and will even lock open in 12 inch increments, so it will not need to be completely open when you are coupled to your camper. This is also weather resistant, so when it is closed, it will help keep everything in the bed nice and dry. The heavy-gauge extruded aluminum panels with matte black finish are durable and corrosion resistant as well. I have a Pace Edwards Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover on my truck and absolutely love it, so I highly recommend this cover. However, it is expensive.

If you prefer something more cost effective, the also American made Access Lorado Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover # A41409 is also a good option. As this will roll up to the cab, it technically will block a very small portion of the rear window, but I emphasize small. This is a quick and easy install that will also keep everything in your bed safe from weather, though not as well as the # PE56QJ. With the # A41409 being a roll up style cover, it will also either be fully opened or fully closed, there will not be a half open setting. These are built and tested in North Dakota, so they are designed to be able to withstand a lot, so it is a very good option as well.
