If you have the B&W Patriot # BWRVK3255 (8-foot bed without OEM prep) or the # BWRVK3270 (6-3/4 foot bed without OEM prep), you will first need to purchase the Universal Base Rails # BWRVR3200 (for an 8-foot bed) or # BWRVK2505 (for the 6-3/4 foot bed).
For installing the base rails, you will need to remove any heat shield or under-bed spare tire (if you have one). Also, if you have any bed liner or mat, it will have to be removed or cut in order to allow the mounting rails to connect directly to the bed. If you have a spray-in liner, you will be able to install the rails onto the liner. Once those steps are taken, you will need to drill the mounting holes and attach the brackets to the frame of your truck for the front and rear rails.
After the rails are installed, you simply install the base to the rails. When that is done, you can then attach the head. I went ahead and attached a video that shows this process.
If you do not have 5th wheel wiring, I also recommend the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector # C56070.
