Question:

Just I purchased my 2021 GMC 1500 sierra Carbon Pro and I visited some shops here in UAE and all of them tell me that the bed shall be drilled to complete the installation. Many thanks for your help and support. Best regards from United Arab Emirates

Expert Reply:

The BAKFlip MX4 Hard Tonneau Cover - Folding - Aluminum - Matte Finish # BAK52FR uses C-Clamps to mount to the inner lip of the bedrails on your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 so you will not have to drill into the bed or bedrails to install the cover itself. The reason they are telling you that you would need to drill into the header panel or bedrails of the bed is for the drain tube. Most truck beds have bed plugs that you could pop out and run the drain through, but with your CarbonPro bed you would have to actually drill the hole. If you didn't want to drill the hole in your bed you could just cap off the drain port and not attach the drain tube.
