20,000 lb. Reese 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 w/ 8' Bed
Question:
What is an equivalent replacement for a Reese 20,000 lb. 5th wheel hitch from 2005 for my 2006 Chevy 3500, 8 ft. bed with above bed rails.

Expert Reply:
The Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30928 will attach to the industry standard rails in your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado with 8' bed. The # RP30928 will have the same 20,000 lb. capacity as your older model.
If you wanted to make hooking up your 5th wheels wiring easier you can add the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # 50-97-410. This will add a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck while retaining the use of your factory 7-way at the rear of your truck.
