Does The Curt C11576 Offer Decent Ground Clearance On A 2021 Toyota Avalon

Question:

I am looking to install a hitch on my 2021 Toyota Avalon for a bike rack for 2 bikes, but I have concerns about the ground clearance once it is installed. I saw a Curt available for my car and was wondering how the ground clearance was on it. Thanks.

The Curt # C11576 hitch that is designed for your 2021 Toyota Avalon do have decent ground clearance. I do have to mention that the measurements are from installs we did with this hitch on a Toyota Camry, so they may be a little different from where they sit on your Avalon.

With that being said, the Curt # C11576 will measure 11" from the ground to the inside top of the receiver opening. If you are looking for ground clearance, the Curt # C11576 will be your hitch.

If you do not have the bike rack as of yet, I highly recommend the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202. This rack is on the expensive side, but it has literally all the bells and whistles. The rack locks to the hitch, the bikes lock to the rack, there is an included ramp to make loading the bikes easier, it has wheels so it can be rolled to and from the vehicle, lifetime warranty, and it can carry 2 electric bikes weighing up to 65 pounds a piece. It is ever so nice.

However, if you wanted to go with something less expensive and you do not use electric bikes, the Swagman Titan 2 Bike Rack # S63400 will be another great option. This will be significantly less expensive, but you will lose the bells and whistles. This does not mean it is a bad rack though, and you will still get a lifetime warranty, an integrated cable lock for the bikes, and a 35 pound per bike capacity. The Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin # S64029 can also be added on to lock the rack to your Avalon, giving you even more security.
