Parts Needed For Electric-Hydraulic Disc Brakes For Tandem 8,000 lb Dexter Axles w/ 5/8 Wheel Bolt

Question:

We are trying to install electric-hydraulic disc brakes on our 2020 Big Tex Equipment Trailer. Dexter 8000 lb 2 axle - 17.5" rims - 5/8 stud, 8 on 6 1/2. I don't know if this makes a difference but it is a leaf spring axle. Do you have a full kit for this?

We do have everything you need in order to install electric-over-hydraulic disc brakes on your trailer with tandem 8,000 lb Dexter axles. And while there isn't a single kit with all the parts, I'll go ahead and make a list for you of what you need:

- Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - Dacromet - 8,000 lb Dexter Axle # K2HR858DD

- Bearing Kit for Trailer Brakes with 13" Hub/Rotor and 5/8" Bolts - Grease - 7K to 8K # DBRKHW85G

- HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HS381-8067

- Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Tandem Axle - 20' # 20TA-BLKIT or 25' # HS496-252

- Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit w/ Built-In Charger - Side Load # 20099

The disc brake kit is a fit for your Dexter 8k axle, and has the 5/8" studs and 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern to match what you need. It comes with the races but not the bearings or grease seal, which is why the bearing kit is needed. The actuator, brake lines, and and breakaway kit (if you don't already have one) will give you the rest of the parts needed for the complete kit.
