Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Not Receiving Power On 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Question:

Hello I have a 2019 Silverado 3500 with a factory integrated trailer brake control. and replaced it with the Tekonsha Prodigy 3 90195 controller and 3064 plug adapter . Everything works at the 7 pin plug in truck except there is no current getting to brake wire. I have seen in other articles about having to run another blue brake wire from controller to 7 pin plug is this necessary or am I missing something? All fuses have been checked and are ok, also all plugs have been cleaned and checked. Does the ITBC have to be disabled so I do not get the reading check trailer brakes

For your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 I recommend you try unhooking the power wire in the engine bay for the ITBC if you haven't already and hook up the power wire for the Tekonsha Prodigy P3. If that doesn't work, then you will need to run a wire from your 7-way on the rear of your vehicle to your brake controller with # 10-1-1.

I do need to add that the dealership will have to flash your truck to disable the ITBC, this will also keep the error messages from appearing.
