Reese M5 Series Hitch Recommendation for a 2013 F350 Long Bed Dually
Question:
I just purchase a new 2013 F350 Lariat Long Bed Dually and looking at purchasing my very first 5th wheel trailer. I have pulled small to large 18-36 ft bumper travel trailers for 30+ years, but never a 5th wheel. So I am looking to get the best advice on the right hitch for my brand new truck and trailer. The trailer would be an Open Range Residential 42ft 5th wheel with the following tow values UVW 12130 Hitch Weight 2530 Axle Weight 9600 GAWR - All Axles 15600 Gross NCC 3470 Net NCC 2684 Ext. Length 42 I know it did not come with the 5th wheel prep package. It currently has the stock bed linen in it, but looking underneath, it appears to have locations and bolts where 5th wheel A-frame would typically sit. What else would I need to provide to get a recommendation on the model and options that I would need to hook up and drive away. I would definitely want guidance on the best option, with possibly pros and cons, if there are 2 or 3 choices. I am looking at purchasing the new trailer this week, so need to move pretty quickly. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance -

The M5 Series Hitch # RP30921 that you referenced is one of the nicest fifth wheel hitches on the market and would be an excellent choice for your 2013 Ford F350. This hitch uses a single latch jaw that wraps around the king pin for maximum security and minimal rattle. This system uses an underbed rail system that allows for complete truck access when the hitch is not installed whereas other hitches with above bed rails have cumbersome rails that can take up valuable truck bed space.
You will need the underbed rail system to go along with the # RP30921, for that I would recommend the Reese Fifth Wheel Elite Underbed Rail System # RP30126. To see what these rails would look like in the bed of your truck with the hitch not installed check out the picture I attached.
I attached a review video for the # RP30921 for you to check out also.
