Trailer Hitch Recommendation with Best Ground Clearance for 2021 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Hello! The wife and I just bought a 2021 Sienna and I'm looking to install a hitch on it so that we can carry the kid's bikes when we go on vacations. I've read and heard that hitches on minivans don't have great clearance so I'm trying to find something that will hopefully keep me from hitting the ground while I'm driving around. Appreciate the help!

I'll be more than happy to help you guys find the best solution for your 2021 Toyota Sienna.
The Curt # C22UR and Draw-Tite # DT55MR hitches that fit your Sienna both have the same design and essentially the same ground clearance. Because of this I recommend going with the Curt because these hitches usually have a thicker powder coat which will help it hold up better to the elements and road debris. The Draw-Tite does have a higher weight rating but it is well over the capabilities of your Sienna so that isn't something to really bring into the equation.
If you don't already have a bike rack then I highly recommend the Thule Apex Swing XT Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # TH9027XT because it can swing away, which gives you unrestricted cargo access without removing any bikes, and the arms the bikes sit on increase in height the further away you get from the vehicle, which means you'll have better ground clearance than other options. The Apex Swing XT also comes with bike and rack locks for security and 7" spacing between the bikes which help make installing the bikes a little easier.
As far as additional accessories go, I recommend using a hitch cover # 22282 when you don't have the bike rack loaded, and then you'll need an adapter bar # TH982XT for any small kid's bikes or bikes that don't have a horizontal top tube.
