Is a 10K Fastway e2 Round Bar Weight Distribution System Too Much for a 500 lb Tongue Weight

Question:

I have a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder that has a gwvr 0f 6000 lb and 600lb tongue weight. I am pulling a 2015 cherokee wolf pup 16bhs. this rv has a base weight of 2800 lb and a carrying weight of 1105 lb for a total of 3905 lb. the hitch weight if 424lb. Camping world install a e2 fastway rndbar 10k stablizer hitch, is this way to much hitch for what i am doing or is more better. I have drive once since this was installed and I felt that the front end of the pathfinder was floating... is this caused by having a bigger than needed stablizer hitch?

The weight distribution system capacity should be chosen based on the loaded tongue weight of the trailer and any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. The closer the system matches the actual tongue weight, the better the system will preform. In regards to the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System, there is an 800 lb bar part # FA94-02-0899 which would likely be a much better option for you based on your tongue weight. That said, if you want to try and go through the setup procedure again for the system you have, that may save you some money as similar issues can occur if there were any errors the first go around.
