How Do I Find the Weight Rating on an Old Hitch for a 1999 Chevy S-10?

How can I determine if it is a class 111 or class lV hitch.

Your hitch's maximum tow weight rating can sometimes be imprinted into the steel somewhere on the crossbeam. You may need to clean it up really good and feel around for it on that old of a hitch. Based off the information you have given me I was able to go through our system and see what options we have available for your 1999 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup. All of the 2" receiver hitches we have, like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C13315 you were looking at, are class III hitches. All of the 1 1/4" receivers are Class II.
