Ladder Rack And Tonneau Cover Options For a 2021 Ford F-150  

Question:

I have a 2021 Ford F150 5.7 bed. I am looking for a tonneau cover that will allow me to still be able to put on a Yakima Overhaul HD rack. I think I would prefer a roll up or flip cover. I have looked at the RetraxOne MX but not real keen on loosing bed space and would prefer not to have to drill holes for water drain.

To get the Yakima Overhaul rack, like # Y01151-57, installed with a tonneau cover, first you will need the Tonneau Cover Adapter Kit for Yakima OverHaul HD and OutPost HD Truck Bed Ladder Racks # Y01155. The RetraxONE XR # RTX62GR will work very nicely with the Yakima Overhaul cover, but you are correct in that you will be loosing a little bed space with the canister and will need to drill holes for the drain tubes.

Unfortunately, with how the Yakima OverHaul installs on the bed of a truck, it does require an adapter (which is the # Y01155). Without this adapter, it will sit inside the bed rails and not allow a tonneau cover to be installed.

However, if you do not have any of the components as of yet though, I do have another option. The Adarac Pro Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Aluminum - Matte Black - 500 lbs # A86RR can be paired with the BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover - Roll Up - Aluminum and Vinyl # BAK97FR. This truly requires absolutely no drilling for either part and will actually be a less expensive way to go.
