Recommendation for a Rooftop Cargo Carrier for a 2009 Honda CR-V with a Bare Roof

Question:

Which cargo bag would you recommend for the roof, since it has no roof rack at all? We would like a waterproof bag big enough for camping supplies. Thank you,

We have two Waterproof Cargo Bags that will fit your 2009 Honda CR-V with a bare roof. The Rightline Ace 2 # RL100S20 that you referenced and the Rightline Sport 3 XL # RL100S30 are both designed to work on a naked roof. The difference between the two cargo carriers is the size - the # RL100S20 is 15 cu ft whereas the # RL100S30 is 18 cu ft.

A couple things to keep in mind when using a rooftop cargo bag - first, check your owners manual for the weight capacity for your roof and secondly, do not fill the carrier heavier than your vehicles weight capacity rating. I have attached a short demonstration review of the cargo bag.

Another Rightline product you may want to check out is the Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad # RL100650. This pad can be cut to either fit the roof of your vehicle or the size of the carrier. The pad protects your roof from scratches and keeps the cargo bag from potentially sliding during braking and acceleration while driving.

All three items have installation details on the product pages. I have also attached a product demonstration for the rooftop cargo bag carrier.
