How To Properly Measure For An Extended Or Standard Pin Box Locking Plate

Hello, on your answer her about comparing the 5th airborne box to find out if it is extended or standard you say to measure the flat plate to see if it is 12.5. Do you mean to measure across the front, as shown in your picture I believe, to capture the width of the plate, or down the side for the length. Im assuming across the front for width but wanted to make sure. Thank you.

You are correct, to determine weather or not the locking plate like # DM6026 is extended or standard you will need to measure across the front for width.
