Parts Needed To Flat Tow 2021 Jeep Wrangler With Off-Road Bumper That Has 1 Thick D-Rings

I picked up a 2021 Jeep Wrangler with an off-road bumper that has 1" thick D-ring mounts and I want to flat tow it behind my Class A motorhome. What components do you recommend?

First thing first you will need to confirm which brand bumper you have installed on your 2021 Jeep Wrangler and contact the manufacturer to make sure that it is rated for flat towing, as not all off-road bumpers are.

Assuming the bumper is rated for flat towing I recommend the Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Motor Home Mount Tow Bars # RM-035-1 which will fit your 1" thick D-ring mounts perfectly.

For a compatible tow bar I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522 due to it having a 6,500lb towing capacity which is plenty for your Wrangler, and due to the non-binding arms that allow you to quickly and easily unhook your Jeep from your motorhome even if you are parked on un-even ground.

Moving on to safety cables and tow bar wiring I recommend the RoadMaster Falcon 2 and Falcon All-Terrain Combo Towing Kit # RM-9243-1. This kit includes the required safety cables, 6-way connector to be added to the front of your Jeep, wiring to connect to your taillights with diodes to protect from backfeed, the 7-way to 6-way cord to plug into the 7-way connector on your motorhome, but also locks to keep the tow bar secured to your motorhome and towed vehicle, and a case for when the tow bar is not in use.

Next is a supplemental braking system, of which I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR as it is very easy to install, and since it gets completely removed when you are done towing it can be used in multiple vehicles if needed. For your Wrangler you will also need the 12v outlet kit # RM-9332 to power the Patriot.

Lastly you will likely need a high-low adapter to level your tow bar to your tow vehicle so I have included a link to a helpful article that goes over measuring for the correct adapter, and a link to our selection of high-low adapters for you to look through.

It is always a good idea to check the recreational towing section of your vehicles owner's manual for any flat towing restrictions or special steps required to make your vehicle ready to be flat towed.
