No Trailer Brakes When Echo Brake Controller is Paired
Question:
I am trying to use the Curt Echo with my 2018 Volvo V90 Cross Country, which has the cool down Volvo hitch and integrated 7 pin receptacle. It pairs fine green light but the camper brakes dont activate either in manual mode via the app, or when attempting to brake. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your purchase from etrailer of the Curt Echo # C51180. Since the Echo and your phone are properly paired, the issue is almost certainly with your trailer's 7-way or wiring which is impeding the brake signal from getting through to your trailer brakes.
Start by taking a look at your trailer's 7-way connector to to see if there is any type of damage or corrosion built up that may be hampering its functionality. If there is you will need to replace it with the 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector, 6' Long # H20044 or 4' Long # H20043.
If your connector is fine, inspect the power wires to the magnets and look for wires that may be pinched or otherwise damaged and repair as necessary with 12 Gauge Black Primary Wire - per foot # 12-1-1.
Finally, it's important to make sure the ground wires are attached to bare metal surfaces and free of any paint, dirt or corrosion as a poor ground can be the cause of a lack of connection to your trailer brakes.
