Can the Reese Goose Box Be Used With a Ram 3500 Short Bed

Can I use a Reese second generation goosebox for my Ram 3500 6 1/2 ft box

The newest Reese Goose Box, like the # RP85FR, can definitely be used with your Ram 3500 that has a 6-1/2 foot bed. However, this will not extend back any further than a standard pin box and will measure 17-3/4" from the center of the coupler to the center of the first mounting hole, so you will need to be careful when turning.

One way to help get more room between the front of your trailer and the back of the truck's cab will be to use an offset gooseneck ball, like the 4" Offset Ball for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # BWGNXA4085. This is specific to the B&W Turnover Ball Gooseneck Hitches, like the # BWGNRK1314 for a 2018 Ram 3500 Short Bed without the factory prep package.

Please keep in mind that both the # RP85FR and # BWGNRK1314 are examples as they will only fit specific trailers and vehicles. The # BWGNRK1314 will fit a Ram 3500 from 2013 to 2018, long bed or short bed, and the # RP94720 will fit pin boxes Lippert 1621, 1621HD, and 0719.
