Since there are 2 main different styles of weight distribution hitches and we currently do not carry Eaz-Lift, I have linked our How To page below with setup videos and tips for different types. *Be sure that your weight distribution is the proper size for your trailers tongue weight and trailer weight as you can damage the hitch if it is under rated.

The first type is a chain style weight distribution like the Curt MV Weight Distribution System # C17062. The head angle on this can be adjusted to provide additional tension on the spring bars that will transfer more weight to your front axle. The chains can also be used on different loops to provide additional tension on the spring bars. This is the easiest way to adjust the tension for a chain style hitch.

The second is a saddle bracket weight distribution like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET. With this the spring bars land on the saddle brackets and the only way to increase tension is to adjust the head angle on the drop shank to increase the angle of the bars and provide more tension when the bars are set on the brackets.

Before adjusting anything it is a good idea to measure the ride height of your tow vehicle at both the front and rear fenders to have a good starting point. I recommend driving it for a minute before doing this to ensure the suspension is freely moving and is not static from being parked in a different position.

You will want to follow the manufacturers instructions specific to your Eaz-Lift weight distribution hitch when making any adjustments.
