Correct RV Slide Out Awning for 114 inch Wide and 143 inch Wide Slide Outs

Question:

HI Im looking to install an awning over both slide outs. I have read a few articales saying If you want more coverage over the slide than order 1 size larger... My slides are 114 inch and 143. I see both etrailer opitons are near the upper end of the standard rv awing sizes within the size paramiters for my slides... I was trying to have about 3 to 6 inch of awning overhang on either side. I have a 2013 Raptor 365LEV- both slides had active leaks when I purchased 1 month ago. I have since stoped the leaks. My purpous on the rv slide awning was to try and elimanate most of the water from hittng the slide or getting on top of the slde. Should I order the correct awning that is within the recomended paramaters or order 1 size bigger... PS I don not want to modify anything to force it to work. Please advise... Thanks!

The word directly from Lippert/Solera, who makes the slide out awnings, is that you want to add 2-1/2" for overhang on both sides of your slide out box when including the flange. So for your 114" you want an awning that includes 119" in the range that it fits, and then for your 143" you want an awning that includes 148" in the range that it fits (see options linked below).

For your 114" slide out:
White - # LCV000163293
Black - # LCV000182037

For your 143" slide out:
White - # LCV000163299

I wouldn't advise going any longer than that because then you can run into possible clearance issues if you have other things next to your slide outs. If you don't have anything that will get in the way then you could possibly order larger but you will also need to upgrade the extension rod so that it fits the larger application (see linked selection).

I've also attached a review video for you to check out.
