How To Fix "SH" Error Code On Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
5H every two seconds. I installed your brake controller and have the the 5H display.changed the truck plug receiver and replaced the brake wire direct from the controller to the plug receiver. Brand new trailer 2021 brakes work fine. What now? Thanks in advance.

The "S.H" error code on the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 indicates the following per the instructions:
1. Brake wire sees short during idle condition.
2. Use of some test lights or non-Tekonsha testers can cause this problem.
The brake wire is the blue brake output wire that runs from the back of the brake controller to the trailer connector and then from the trailer connector to the brake assemblies. I recommend having the trailer looked over for shorts as it's possible even if new. If all else fails the brake controller will need to be replaced.
