Parts Needed to Add a Trailer Brake Controller on a 2005 Dodge Dakota with 4 to 7-Way Adapter
Question:
I wired a 7pin/4pin adapter to my 2005 dodge dakota previously. I now would like to add a break controller to it. So I would like to no if I just need to buy the controller unit and the breakers, and the two wires that need to be ran from the adapter to under the hood and inside cab.

Since you already have a 7-Way adapter from a 4-Way you will only need the brake controller itself, an installation kit, and one other breaker.
For an installation kit use # 5506. These come with wiring, connectors, and 30 amp circuit breaker for the controller.
If you need to add 12 volt power to the 7-Way you will also need a 40 amp circuit breaker # PK54540. I have included some links that will help with the isntallation. You will not need every part of the FAQ and video but they will be very helpful for you.
For a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885. This controller is one of our best sellers because it is easy to use, easy to set up, and its reliable. I have linked the instructions for the controller for you.
