Recommended High-Low Adapter for Dropping Receiver 5 To Flat Tow a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic With RV  

Question:

The difference between my RV hitch and tow vehicle base plate is approximately 5. Is it better to have the RM 048-4 receiver or the RM 048-6?

If you are at around 5" difference I recommend the 4" Roadmaster High-Low Adapter # RM-048-4. This will allow you to stay in the 3" +/- range for the tow bars, without sacrificing any ground clearance. The High-Low Adapter # RM-048-6 would still work but will sit 2" lower to the ground which may become an issue over bumps and driveways.

You might also consider the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 if you would like to carry a bike rack or other hitch mounted accessory on your motorhome while you are towing your 2014 Chevrolet Sonic.
