Hitch Bike Rack for 2018 Toyota Highlander with Shallow Hitch Pin Hole

Question:

Most bike racks seem to have hitch pin hole about 1-1/2inch from end of square tube. My 2018 Toyota Highland factory hitch pin hole is 1inch from edge of receiver. When I tried my existing bike rack it just doesnt go in very far. Why do some receivers have hitch hole 1inch from edge of receiver versus 2-1/2.

For the shallow hitch pin of your 2018 Toyota Highlander Yakima has the Ridgeback bike racks like the part # Y02458 for a 4 bike rack or part # Y02457 for a 2 bike rack. The Highlander and some of the Subaru hitches are known for this shallow hitch pin situation but Yakima actually used to make the bike racks for Subaru so we know these work well with the shallow hitch pins.
