Replacement Hubs for an EZ Loader Trailer

Question:

I have a 1987 EZ Loader trailer, M80 5.2 2200# Will the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 Item # 8-258-5UC1-EZ fit this trailer? Do I also need to purchase Bearing Buddy or equivalent caps? thanks

With your trailer being from 1987, I strongly suggest pulling one of your current hubs off to make sure the bearing match the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 8-258-5UC1-EZ. This will use an # L44649 inner and outer bearing that has a 1.063" inner diameter. As long as your bearings match this, you will be good to go. This will also have the EZ-Lube cap to get access to the zerk/grease fitting on the end of an EZ-Lube spindle.

However, if your spindles do not have this fitting and you wanted to add the Bearing Buddy system to the hubs, you will need the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors - Model 1980A w/ Auto Check - Chrome Plated (Pair) # BB1980A.
