Can My 2018 Subaru Crosstrek Use The Entire 525lb Tongue Weight Rating Of The etrailer e98912?

Can the vehicle itself handle the 525 pound tongue weight that the etrailer hitch says it’s rated for? It’s not going to tip the frame apart.

I took a look in the owners manual of your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek and found that it has a 200lb tongue weight rating, so while the etrailer Trailer Hitch # e98912 has a much higher 525lb tongue weight rating you will still be limited to the lower rating of the vehicle.

These differences are due to the hitch manufacturers testing their hitch independently of the vehicle so it is always recommended to check your vehicles owner's manual and use the lowest rating between the hitch and vehicle.
