Does the White Wire on the 4 to 7-Way Adapter # 37185 Have to Be Connected on a 2012 Mazda CX-9

Question:

I recently installed the Curt T-One wiring kit on my 2012 Mazda CX-9. Im borrowing a pop up camper that uses a 7 way RV Blade. I already purchased an adapter but i notice it has extra wires. From other posts i see that those wires are for brakes, back up, and ground. I dont need the back up or brakes so i know i do not need to connect those. The question is, do i need to connect the ground even though i grounded the Curt harness to my frame and ran power to my battery? Any insight would be appreciated.

You will need to ground the adapter # 37185 to the vehicle frame for it to work. The other functions if you do not need them can be taped up and stowed out of the way. The 4-Way that you installed may be ground but that ground does not continue on the 4-Way part of # 37185. That is why the white ground wire must be attached.
