Can Hydraulic Brake Kit AKFBBRK-35-D Mount With Hydraulic Connector on Side
Question:
do AKFBBRK-35-D have to be mounted with the hydraulic connection on top? I am concerned about the clearance of the hydraulic connection on this drum with the frame of my trailer. can it be rotated 90 degrees? When the 8-247-50UC3 hub and AKFBBRK-35-D brake are both on the spindle, can you tell me what the measurement is from the hub face to the face that mounts to the axle brake flange? I am designing a trailer that has very tight between the frame and wheel/hub/brake assembly.

Since the bolt hole pattern is square with the bolt holes equidistant, the Hydraulic Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - Free Backing - Dacromet - 10" - Left/Right Hand - 3,500 lbs # AKFBBRK-35-D can be mounted so that the hydraulic connector is on the side if you like as the flange won't interfere.
In regards to the distance from hub face to flange with the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized # 8-247-50UC3 and Brake Kit # AKFBBRK-35-D, without having them installed to measure the best we can offer is an educated guess, which is approximately 3 inches, give or take a bit.
Additionally, in order to mount the brakes you will need the Mounting Hardware for 10" Brake Assemblies # BRKH10B, and if you need an adjustment spoon for the brakes that part is the Brake Adjustment Spoon # W80630.
