What length hitch ball

It sounds like you are asking which hitch ball is correct for the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution Hitch # C17499 you were looking at.
This hitch uses a hitch ball with a 1-1/4" shank so you will need either the 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286 to match the coupler of your trailer. These hitch balls have a shank that is 2-5/8" long or longer which is perfect for a weight distribution hitch.
Keep in mind that this hitch is designed for trailers that have a total tongue weight measurement between 500-800lbs so I recommend confirming your total tongue weight before placing your order. Total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to tow trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. The easiest way to get an accurate tongue weight measurement is with a tongue weight scale like the etrailer # e99044 but there are other methods outlined in the included help article.
If you find your total tongue weight is outside of this range just let me know and I would be happy to recommend the correct system for you.
I included a few videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
