Why Does My Insight Flex Brake Controller Pulse My Brakes While Driving?
Question:
I have an insight flex brake controller. When hooked up to my 2020 8.5x24 enclosed trailer as I am driving I can feel the trailer brakes grabbing even when the brake pedal has not been applied, If I unhook the controller I still have brake light no trailer brakes and it is a smooth ride. The minute I hook the controller back up the pulsating begins. Also I need to add that with the trailer hooked to the truck, the truck completely off you hac hear a loud clicking from the trailer brakes.

I am so sorry to hear about your Insight controller! In this situation, I recommend making sure that the red brake controller wire is connected properly to the cold side of the brake light switch.
Also, you may potentially have an issue with the brake controller itself. On the back of the controller, there is a blue wire that you can cut and test to see if you still have power from the brake controller. If you get pulsing power from the wire, you can single out the issue that it is the controller. If you need a circuit tester for this, I recommend the Hook Probe Circuit Tester # PTW2993.
If you find out that you have an issue with your brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles # 39510. The Voyager is a proportional controller that automatically adjusts your trailer's braking based on deceleration of tow vehicle. It also activates immediately without any delay like with time-delayed brake controllers.
