If you are planning on using a cargo carrier on your 2018 Kia Forte with the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24903, you will have 200 pounds of vertical weight capacity (tongue weight) available for the cargo carrier and cargo. The tongue weight applies to anything that forces weight on the hitch directly down on the hitch (toward the ground). As far as weight capacity, 200 pounds of tongue weight is the highest tongue weight we have available for any hitch that is compatible with your 2018 Kia Forte. In order to make sure that you have enough weight capacity on your vehicle, I recommend confirming the capacity with your owner's manual.
For a great economical cargo carrier that is compatible with the Draw-Tite Sportframe Hitch, I recommend the 17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # C18145. The Curt Cargo Carrier only weighs 28 pounds and has internal dimensions of 46-3/8" long x 17-9/16" wide x 5-1/2" deep. These 28 pounds will have to be factored into weight on your hitch. Since the Curt carrier can hold up to 500 pounds, you will be limited to the 200 pound weight capacity of your hitch. Another great thing about the Curt carrier is that the distance from the center of the shank's pinhole to the closest part of the carrier is 7-1/4 inches. With this length, you will not have any issues with clearing the rear bumper.
