2017 Kia Niro Hybrid Trailer Hitch Receiver and 4-Way Flat Vehicle Wiring Harness
Question:
I have a 2017 Kia Niro hybrid, not a plug-in. Will the hitch work for me and, if so, which wiring kit do I need to purchase?

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12171 is confirmed to Fit your 2017 Kia Niro Hybrid. This class II receiver has a 1-1/4" receiver tube with a weight capacity rating of 350lbs of tongue weight and 3,500lbs towing capacity. Be sure to check with your Kia dealer for your exact towing capacity and use whichever rating is lower.
We also have the Class III 2" Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13329 that is confirmed to fit your Niro. The larger receiver will give you a larger selection of ball mounts and hitch mounted carriers.
For the 4-way flat connector I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118749. This harness will plug in line of your factory tail lights so that you do not have to splice into the factory wiring. It uses powered ModuLite to send power from the battery on your Niro, which will reduce excess strain on the factory wiring.
If using a bike rack or cargo carrier that restricts view of your tail lights, the Auxiliary Lights # C53201 can be used to provide other drivers a light to let them know when you are slowing down or making a turn.
