Platform Bike Rack for Draw Tite Hitch for 2016 Subaru Impreza
Question:
I drive a 2016 Subaru Impreza hatchback. Im planning to purchase #DT24959 as a hitch so that I can install a platform bike rack. Im looking at the Kuat Transfer V2 #KU74FR, Thule T2 Classic #TH9044, Saris SuperClamp EX #SA4025F, and Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT #TH92BJ. My question is would there be any significant difference in ground clearance between these four racks? This is my first hitch set-up and Im worried with the Impreza being lower to the ground that a platform style might be too low. Also, regarding the rack choices. I am not too concerned about having a frame mount vs a wheel mount which is why I am considering the DoubleTrack. I also dont mind that I would lose the tilt feature for trunk access. With that in mind, is it worth the $100-$150 to go for one of the other three models? And if not, is there something else I should look at in addition to the DoubleTrack? Thanks for your help.

For your 2016 Subaru Impreza the Draw Tite # DT24959 is a fit and a great choice for carrying a bike rack like the ones you mentioned.
In terms of ground clearance the Saris SuperClamp EX part # SA4025F is the best option as it has the most rise built into the shank. It's also really lightweight and has a higher weight capacity of 60 lbs per bike. This has the best ground clearance.
Now that said, if you were looking for something lower priced but still solid the DoubleTrack part # TH92BJ will do a great job. Its about the same weight but does not tilt down and also grabs bikes by frame instead of by wheel.
