Recommended Fold Up Steps That Can Be Removed for Truck Bed Camper with Limited Clearance Below Door

Question:

I have a 2002 SandS Bitterroot slide in truck camper that I would like to finally add some sturdy steps to instead of using a step ladder. There is only about 2.5inch available under door for mounting. The camper entry sits about 33inch from the ground, but since camper can sometimes be pitched down in the front, I think a few extra inches would be good. I like the ability to fold up the stairs, but for long road trips, I would like to be able to easily disconnect the steps and store inside the camper. I have been looking at the TLA 7804-8000 and TLA7404-8000. Could you let me know if either of these are a good option and if not, what might work better? Thank you.

I really like the TorkLift GlowStep Camper Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear - 4 Steps - 20" Wide - 375 lbs # TLA7804-8000 and think they're a great option for your truck bed camper and the bracket has pull pins to allow you to remove the steps for travel. The mounting bracket on the TorkLift GlowStep will fit in the 2-1/2" you've got below the door and the adjustable legs are great to have when you're not on even ground to ensure that your steps are always level.

These are typically what I recommend for truck bed campers, so I think you've made a great choice.
