Reese 5th Wheel Mounting Bracket/Rail Kit for Husky 5th Wheel Hitch on 2021 Ford F-150

Question:

Are you absolutely positive the rail kit # RP56034-53 brackets will fit? The husky tech team said the f-150 frame changed in June or July. Lisa told me the brackets were not made by anyone yet. I have the sidewinder set up.

Your Husky 5th wheel hitch is indeed compatible with industry standard 5th wheel bed rails which is what is provided by a Reese 5th wheel hitch install bracket/rail kit.

However, the # RP50087-58 kit you'd looked at doesn't carry over to the 2021 F-150 model which is year 1 of the 14th generation of the truck, which you kind of alluded to. For your 2021, you'd want to use the # RP56034-53 kit.

If you'd like to install a 7-way in the truck bed so you don't have to run the trailer connector up over the tailgate, you can install one using part # C57008.

Also, a 5.5 foot bed is too short for a sliding hitch to provide enough turning clearance between the front of the fifth wheel and the rear of the truck cab. You'd need to use a rotating pin box on the 5th wheel like the Reese Revolution or Sidewinder or the Turning Point from Lippert along with a # SWW-04 wedge to prevent the king pin from rotating in the hitch jaws.

I'll link to an article that explains how rotating pin boxes work, as well as to some install videos that you'll hopefully find helpful.

Yes sir. I obtained that information directly from the Reese website, as you can see from the provided photo. The Reese # RP56034-53 bracket/rail kit is a confirmed fit for the 2021 Ford F150 post-frame changes.
