Can I Use The Rocky Mounts Through Axle Adapter With The Yakima HighSpeed Fork Mounted Bike Rack?

Question:

I have a bike with a 12x100 thru axle. I want to put something in the fork to be able to clamp against when I put the thru axle in, and that would then be put into the clamp on the highspeed. SImilar to how the QR adapter sleeve is used in the high speed. would this sleeve fit into the highspeed clamp, even if I have to grind off the ridgeinch shown in the picture?

I typically try to stay away from mixing different branded accessories. That being said, you should get something that is designed to take a through axle like the Thule TopRide # TH75JV. THis will come with the 12x100 adapter along with others too just in case you switch up your setup. I REALLY like this rack. Super simple and comes with everything you need so you're not trying to piece together parts.

I think there could be issues using this adapter # RKY1300 on the Yakima HighSpeed # Y25FR just because the diameter is a bit bigger than the fork mount adapter that comes with it. You REALLY want to have the right parts that are very secure since bikes experience a lot of movement up on the roof of your car.
